Brie Stoner
Recording artist, podcaster, writer and mischief maker
Rarely have I worked with a person that arrives at my studio with fully formed and brilliant portrait concepts that are as ready to go for the camera as Brie Stoner does. Brie has been an absolute force every time I’ve worked with her and our portrait shoot for this podcast episode was no exception.
Brie Stoner is a recording artist in Avila with her collaborative partner Daniel Johnson as well as her own solo music projects. Brie’s also a podcaster, writer, seeker and mischief maker. You may know her from the globally popular podcast “Another Name For Everything” that she co-hosts with Paul Swanson and famed Franciscan priest and author Richard Rohr.
We talk about her growing up in my favorite country of Spain, the intersection of creativity and spirituality, her forthcoming podcast “Unknowing” and so much more…

Jason Quigno
Sculptor
Jason Quigno is one of the most prominent sculptors living in the Midwest today. Carving for hours each day to shape each stone, Jason’s work often draws upon his Anishinaabe heritage and the contemporary abstractions that are inspired by the land and nature.
I’ve known Jason for quite a long time, but neither of us can remember when we first met. That’s a good thing. I’ve always loved dropping by Jason’s studio to make some portraits in his incredible studio…plus we always enjoy smoking a cigar together. That usually means I’ve had a great afternoon just talking about anything and everything with Jason.
This conversation reveals the underpinnings of his work, his “wild child” life as a former addict, and the success he enjoys today creating monumental works in stone.

Dustin Dwyer
Michigan Radio Reporter & Long Form Journalist
Dustin Dwyer has been a Michigan Radio reporter since 2004 where he began as an intern. He’s an excellent craftsman of longer form investigative reporting on economic and social issue across Michigan.
I wanted to talk to Dustin about the protests that evolved into property destruction in Grand Rapids on May 30. Justin was reporting and live streaming during that evening as well as other protests around the city.
Dustin has also investigated cases of police violence in the Grand Rapids Police Department and his insights into these systemic and social issues made for a very engaging conversation.

Jonathan Jelks - Entrepreneur

Friday Jun 12, 2020
My guest is Jonathan Jelks. He’s an entrepreneur and leader in the downtown business community. His businesses include Motu Viget Spirits, GRUSA Apparel and Ambiance Kitchen and Lounge. Jonathan moves unflinchingly in many social and entrepreneurial circles in and around Grand Rapids and is someone I admire very much.
This conversation centers much around race relations in Grand Rapids, Michigan which remains one of the most segregated cities in the United States. It took place about a week or so after protests in Grand Rapids turned destructive in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd. Let’s just say we had an awful lot to talk about.
We’ve two of Jonathan’s business partners on this podcast last year…Andrea “SuperDre” Wallace and Willie the Kid. Please listen to these conversations. All three are incredibly adept entrepreneurs that are moving the city of Grand Rapids forward in many different ways.

Podcast Update - We’re Back!
Photographer, Director and Podcast Host
Brian Kelly is the host of The Full Exposure Podcast. It’s been on a hiatus of sorts the last 60 days. Out of an abundance of safety, the pandemic has made it nearly impossible to bring in-person guests into the production studio.
Like all of us, Brian decided to press pause on everything else as well. In this short episode, Brian updates us on an unusual twist to his family’s lock-down experience, and he also shares his thoughts and concerns about the business climate for the production industry coming up.
